Help! MKS mini pad came off…

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, first time trying something like this. All was going well until I tried to close the jumper on the back of the lcd board and the pad nearest the R4 label seems to have come off. Is there anyway I can bypass this pad from another part of the board to close the jumper? Any help would be great.

I’ve done a bit a checking and it looks like the r4 damaged pad closest to U1 connects directly to the 3.3v pin on exp 2. Is this right and if so can I just use wire to connect the remaining good r4 pad to the exp 2 3.3v pin to restore the functionality of closing the jumper? Thanks.

You can connect the tab of U1, to the 3.3V line on the bottom side of the main PCB.

I’ve got to the stage of testing the first part of the build. Followed the instruction for connecting the lcd screen from U1 tab to 3.3v on underside of OSCR pcb. Turned on with no game inserted, on 5v. Screen came on first time, celebration time. I then turned off and placed Tetris in the GB slot and turned back on. Green light on arduino, blue led on OSCR pcb comes on but lcd screen is blank. Turned off and took Tetris out. Turned on and screen blank. Sometimes when you turn on the screen shows pixels or lines but no menu anymore.

Tried different SD card and also reflashed the arduino with just GBX enabled (so removed the other systems). Still no change. Any help is apppreciated, I’m wondering if the lcd is defective.

One more thing, the lcd backlight comes on and the knob lights up. No change in colour if I turn it but if I click it the colour changes.

I have also now tried serial monitor. Comes up with menu in serial monitor. Tried to dump Tetris and get checksum error every time. The game rom can be read by my GBxCartRW so I don’t think it needs cleaning. Roms are being saved to SD card but cannot be read via retro arch.

If it makes a difference I have clock generator in the build, I have left that installed in Arduino IDE.

Probably best do go over all solder joints. Those ones especially look bad:

Thanks, am going through and reflowing with flux component by component. The ones you mentioned are where I added a pin header that was not needed on the arduino. Tried to remove but got stuck so cut the other ends off. Will redo these just in case there is a short though. Thanks for your help.

Success, I found some of the female pin header connectors to the Arduino were not connecting. Fixed those and have managed to dump Tetris for Gameboy. Screen also working perfectly and soldering and electrical testing skills have improved…

Started putting together the top board now. Cartridge slots seem quite a tight fit but will finish up tomorrow and give a proper test.
