GMS recently updated macro detection ban testing (related to the RDP banwave)

This is where I document the ban I received when testing mostly with bare-minimum non-secure method. Feel free to contribute. It is mainly for understanding the newly updated macro detection that caused the recent RDP banwave.

• Banned after: ~1 day
  • Training durations: 11PM - 5AM, 11AM - 8PM, 9PM - 1AM
• Possible ban trigger: Possibly long training duration without break

I got banned for a week right now 3 PM EST 06/01/2025 while doing bossing. I have been using v12 on GeForce now and trained for around 4-5 hours. I think someone reported me when I left my character dead for 30 mins.

I believe it is because someone reported you, that was the same case for me too. I think GMs manually check those that gets reported before they initiate the ban. If they did have a solid evidence to support their claim, they will be giving perma bans right away. So I think it is safe to assume they run that based off of other users reports 🤔

I think it would be nice to have auto recall to town when the character is dead. I will also probably adjust my rountine so its more human like.

I didn't add revive to town option because that is related to mouse. Haven't deal with it until recently for the familiar swap. So I will add it in 0.13. Also did you turn on Stops Actions On Fails / .... in Settings. I was tested hardware input before and when my character die and I still let the actions run. I received "Illegal program usage detected.." warning but no ban though

I think something weird is happening with the rune because I literally do not get a single color rune let alone spinning (2 accounts using SendInput). Either:

• I smoked something/hallucinating
• Just charged them some money for fashion purpose so they decided to put my IP in the whitelist
• Nexon is about to add other servers anti-bot in the next update
• The new input delay in v0.13 can now spoof the "new macro detection" (copium). Though it still shows up some days ago.

Hmm just got the first direct spin, no color after 4 hours on one account using pywinauto_example.py (usually a color/spin after two default runes). Thinking it still shows up but less frequent and I just didn't notice during previous training...

Edit: The first color rune shows up on the second account (default SendInput) also roughly after ~4 hours because of failing the default rune but normal again afterwards. Second account finishes full 6 hours with no spin and only 1 color, hmmm....

I am hoping the new input delay in 0.13 can actually spoof it, I did some tests before with it just wasn't paying attention. The new delay randomization is a bit more "advanced" than the usual random range. Guess I can test 0.12 again.

You should check this discussion occasionally, I will be providing update if I got ban. But as you can see from above comments, some people also got banned for being reported and there is no currently no solution for that yet. I guess you can try training in less populated area + turning on notification next.

I play on reg server so usually there aren't much people. And try use 0.13 since I feel like I am receiving much less spin + color runes.

If you are using windows, is your update current?

Yeah, exactly! Once my ban ends, I'll format my laptop and install only MapleStory to see if it still crashes.

• Training durations: Not everyday but 10 hours, 6 hours and last day 8 hours. Alternate account trained roughly the same and mostly everday.
• Possible ban trigger: Not sure, maybe SendInput is triggering much less color and spin rune? Checked notifications but does not seem like to be reported. Alternate account is still safe so maybe flagged?

That is my main being banned again but not sure if they did not ban the other account because it is not on same PC. The alternate account was trained using Rpc with pywinauto_example.py. So remote but just using virtual input method.

After training, afk in map for a while and log out, was still able to login some hours afterwards but not today. I also recently received a Illegal program usage detected... warning some days ago when I die and let the actions to continue running. And my friend similarly today too (but using old version and not sure if dead) after training for ~1 hour to do daily. Maybe this program is flagged but they log user's PC programs and later let GM check it?

I think your main acc is also flagged like mine. If you got 1week ban last time, I think they flagged the account and will be more aggressive in giving temporary ban. I am not sure how long they will do this for, but one day they will give a permanent ban for the repeated 1-week ban.

• Possible ban trigger: Challenger world. Likely reported because of forgetting to set panic mode change channel key -> Bot sends enter and chats random messages -> The other guy types ?. Disconnected with Suspicious macro activity detected..., reconnect and was banned.

Been using it for quite some times since v0.08, so far so good. I just farm in 2 hours duration and turn it on and off occasionally

GMS does not have lie detector. But you can try using hardware input such as Arduino, KMBox or hardware driver such as Interception... When using hardware input, at least on GMS, spinning rune does not appear. But if you use default input, it will appear.

In any case, anti-cheat system can detect if your input is legitimate or not depending on what kind of input you use.

I was fine for over a month. I think chrome remote triggered it since I used it for first time a day ago to start the game.
