Non-GUI access

In my case, the main use-case for TargetDB is the following:

• Input a list of genes
• Run TargetDB in list mode
• Review the analysis as generated

It would be great if we were able to run TargetDB in a non-GUI mode, since this would allow me to deliver analysis decoupled from the Tkinter frontend. Do you have any suggestions on how we might do this?

There is actually a CLI interface (non-documented because not maintained) that might work for what you want to do

using the command target_DB

I do not guarantee it will work. It will still output an excel file though.

If you want to get the output in a dataframe to use in another script the best would be to modify the function :

targetDB/targetDB/druggability_report.py

The variable called data is a dataframe containing all the data before it is pushed to the excel file. You can always rewrite the function to output the dataframe instead I guess.
