I tried with SBCL versions 2.5.2 and 2.5.4 on GNU/Linux x86-64, and I can't reproduce the issue.
What CPU are you using?
Is there something special about the SBCL you are using? Where does it come from?

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X - 32 virtual cores if that is a consideration.

My SBCL comes from the arch linux package - part of the official distribution ('extra' repo).

I have a machine with the exact same CPU, and I don't have the issue with the SBCL from Guix.
I also tried on a machine with the SBCL from Debian, and on a machine running Windows 11 with the SBCL from sbcl.org, and Ironclad compiled without issue.

I wonder where the difference you see could come from...
Is your Quicklisp distribution up to date?

I have ultralisp installed too, along with shinmera's dist. Here's what I see when I search:

If you look at the trace you'll see that the ultralisp version is chosen by quicklisp, because (presumably) it's slightly newer.

I believe quicklisp is up to date. I had freshly run update-all-dists.

The kernel is now 6.14.6, and this one is a laptop with an Intel i7-11850H with 16 virtual cores. I did try again on the AMD CPU and nothing changed (ultralisp version also).

Now I'm going to try a SBCL from guix, and if that's still b0rkdn I'll see if I can figure out how to disable the ultralisp dist jic its a dist problem. brb

OK, Guix supplied SBCL 2.5.2, on the AMD box, fails the same way. Also, with that SBCL, I removed the ultralisp dist and verified it loaded the correct version 0.61, which it seems to have done:

but with the same result. Again this is the AMD box, arch linux with 6.14.6, and a guix SBCL with the ultralisp dist removed. It is possible that I did not sufficiently remove traces from the earlier build, or perhaps dependencies - but I'm not sure how to deal with that. LMK if you have a better method for testing this.

Same issue, when I remove the '-imm' suffix from the instructions it works fine. SBCL 2.5.10 on Arch Linux. Strange that different people with the same hardware using the same SBCL on the same platforms have different experiences. Maybe I should try under different OSes (Arch, Debian, Fedora,...) and on different hardware (currently using an Intel Skylake i7 6700) to see when/if pslld-imm works and pslld doesn't and vice versa.
