Box-drawing characters on Raspi

I'm loving fresh and putting it on all my computers. However, on the Raspberry Pis, it is showing an odd "â" character in all the places where there should be lines (around the edges). It is the latest Raspbian OS and using LXTerminal and UTF-8. I've tried the default font, Terminus and others. All the same result.

Any ideas on how to make fresh display correctly on RaspiOS?

Possible culprit - your locale settings. Suggestions from Gemini (I didn't try this myself, because I don't have a quickly available raspberry pi):

1. Run locale, if the output for LANG or LC_ALL says C, POSIX, or anything without UTF-8, go on to next steps. If it already has UTF-8 there's a different problem.
2. Run sudo raspi-config and navigate to Localisation Options -> Locale. Scroll down, find a UTF-8 option for your region (like en_US.UTF-8 or en_GB.UTF-8), and select it.
3. Set Default and Reboot: Press Enter, choose your newly selected UTF-8 locale as the system default on the next prompt, exit the configuration tool, and reboot your Raspberry Pi.
