Poor Mobile Functionality & Performance #182
Description
If the expectation is for the populace to create and manage their class schedules for Pennsic online, one would expect that the system is online friendly for all mobile devices without first performing all tasks on PC or Mac.
- For starters, the site isn't even secure, so email and passwords are at severe risk, and wouldn't be surprised if they were being stored in plain text behind the scenes. Shame on you!!!
- One cannot search or filter classes by Date or Time online which should be a basic function.
- I tried to download the offered CSV to do my own filtering via spreadsheet, and I can confirm that the CSV download only opens in the browser (Edge & Chrome) on iPad, iPhone, and even a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook (just to show its not an iOS issue) as a Table, and does not offer to save or otherwise open in your spreadsheet of choice.
After numerous attempts, I was able to finally open it ONCE in Google Sheets after copying and pasting the CSV link directly into the app on Chromebook, but at no time did automatically want to open in the app when clicked in the browser.
This class system needs A LOT more work and is probably less useful than the printed schedules we are now forced to purchase. I recommend with starting with securing the site on a readily secure platform like M365 Sharepoint Online or Google, and making it downloadable and search friendly.
