Without any kind of auditing, everything can be added to the list regardless of quality, and eventually you end up with something like this: https://github.com/uhub/awesome-c —an unfathomable mess. The same story applies here: https://github.com/ChessMax/awesome-programming-languages That list, when it debuted, was originally cool and a joy to read. What has it become now? |

I changed the license to GPLv3, removing the constraints imposed by the original project's contributing guidelines. It will decrease the quality of the list but will also make it easier to maintain. The original project is kind of stagnant because the overly strict contributing guidelines make it very difficult and time‑consuming to preview and add new stuff. This is my attempt to fix it.
