using getJSON but still fail ajax test

According to [this post](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5922175/jquery-getjson-vs-ajax-json) on Stack Overflow, `.getJSON` and `.ajax` are the same but I'm still failing the test through TravisCI even though I'm using the `$.getJSON`.
