$this->Auth->login() always return false in cakephp2.1

I am new to cakephp , but i think after configuring this plugin
username:superadmin
password:1234
$this->auth->login always returns false.
please help

i had the same issue and the problem was the methode how i hashed my password , please SimplePasswordHasher. hope this help :)
