"Download failed"

The optimised server downloads from the jellyfin server, then the mp4 is created and is sitting in the cache. But when streamyfin app tries to download (android) it hangs for 5 minutes and the says "download fails". Normal download without the optimised server is working though.

I think it can't find the file. Is there a way I can see detailed logs of streamyfin?

I have the same problem, did you manage to find a fix? looks like its a problem is with the client and not the server as the server is getting a confirmation that the file was downloaded.

In the app logs it just says Download failed for ...

looks like it somhow canceled the job, so I donno. Im suspecting its something to do with android acctually
if the phone closes the screen for example, android may put the app into a deeper sleep mode to conserve buttary and ram.

would love @fredrikburmester advice on this, as if you have no insight I'll try to create a fork that works for android. Im also thinking about maybe adding an option to slice the file so if the app closes/phone dies you won't have to download all over again. kinda like netflix does it.

Sorry I haven't had time to look at this, but maybe the cleanup job is done before you have the time to download the file? I thought i fixed that though. Please if you have the time, try to investigate more.

Downloads have been crashing my streamyfin client recently, so I may have a quick look to fix. Slicing the download file sounds good though

hey, I did it but I can't really change the app as im unfamilair with react and honestly I tried to understand it for far too long. I made my own little android app to check the funcunality of the optimized server as it is currently implemented on my server and it worked. I would love to try and incorporate it into the original jellyfin android client and after that into the original jellyfin project but will not do it without your aggremant :)

Hey, for me downloads are just not happening

It does optimize, but download doesn't report any progress
