Hi, thank you for supporting tach!
Is it possible to move https://github.com/gauge-sh/tach-pre-commit to tach-org? It simple thing but quite nice for using tach in pre-commit (and it mentioned in docs)
it would be good to update a tach version there.

  - repo: local
    hooks:
      - id: tach
        name: Run tach dependency check
        entry: uv run tach check

        pass_filenames: false
        always_run: true
        stages: [pre-commit, pre-push, manual]

I noticed Tiangolo make the switch away from pre-commit repos to local on the fastapi repo.

what's the basis for that though, other than maybe to keep all tool versions locked in the same place as test and runtime ones?

yeah i never understood why so many tools recommend an external repo instead of just using the version already installed and pinned in your project. i guess it can be useful for tools that can't be installed from pypi but i can't think of any other use case.

still happy to maintain the dedicated repo if that's what people prefer for whatever reason, i just don't really get the use case.

sidenote: i want to shout out prek which is a much better version of pre-commit. it's a drop-in replacement which makes it really easy to switch

good point, need to think, of course tach is not really project dependency (I installed it via uv tool on local), but it can be in dev group, also I will need to check how we run it in CI - it might be we run hooks without installing deps, so, some adjustments might be needed.
