Extracting AnythingLLM... never finishes in MacOs

When installing everything succesfully with the .bat and running the start mac command for the first time, it stays stuck on the Extracting AnythingLLM...

i think it downloads the files for the non-intel cpu?
i tried work around by opening dmg file and copying out contents but it is not the correct executable for intel cpu's

I'm having this same problem. I have an apple silicon in my case. I can't get past it.

So I think the best strategy is to save the project to your local drive then use Claude Code or ChatGPT to look at the files and ask it to modify it for intel CPU MAC if installing on a it or to modify the scripts for Windows.
Even ask it to incorporate an evaluator like LLMFIT in the original setup and suggest appropriate models to us.

Don't have the time or resources but lets start suing AI in ways that work for us.

it does not, it is silently extracting/unzipping the AnythingLLM zipped image (approx 1.8Gb) and only show extractions once done. Takes up to 10 minutes on my 2021 mac but will eventually run

I waited over two hours on my M2 MBP and it never finished... After tinkering, the solution is to use the .dmg file to install anythingllm to the internal drive, then move the app back to the USB anythingllm_mac folder
