ERESI was awesome, and I see activity now here, I hope you'll revive development again.
But what I suggesting - is to think about integration with radare2 framework for those tasks, that already implemented in r2. And you can support more debugging features through r2 too. Keep in mind, that r2 doesn't have external dependencies and already support bunch of architectures and debuggers.
