Is there any interest in resurrecting the project? Maturin and pyo3 had many releases and the async/await bindings are less experimental too.

As of today I’m not aware of any HA distributed KV store available from python in a safe and ergonomic way.

Thank you for your interest in TiKV's Python client. Although it is currently unmaintained, it should still be functional.

@andylokandy I wanted to surface the timeout option but the current code does not compile for me anymore (macOS). It's linked to the rust master branch which has evolved over the past 2 years and it fails -- even if I pin it to the rust master version from 2 years ago it'll fail -- I suspect the grpc libs are too outdated.

What are your plans for this lib? If there's a security fix on the tikv service, we won't be able to use it anymore unless it's updated.

I am happy to contribute to the project if I get an initial help on making the py main branch work with the rust main branch again under macOS & Linux

I'm appreciate if you could help update the python client. The rust client doesn't depend on grpc anymore, so you may only need to update the pyo3 and rust client.

where I updated the CI, build and also surfaced the config to be able to set the timeout.
I used 3.11 for python and cleaned up some stuff for building the Linux flavor (that ssl dep was quite hell..)

Would you like to work with me to push those changes upstream and cut a new release ?
