Version of Skyrim Together

1.8.0

Description

SkyrimTogether.exe launches, shows a black screen for ~5 seconds, then closes silently.
No error messages, no standard crash in Event Viewer.

Diagnostics:
Enabled Silent Process Exit
SkyrimTogether.exe is terminated by crashpad_handler.exe
Exit code: 1073741845 (0x40000015 / STATUS_FATAL_APP_EXIT)
WinDbg dump shows early exit, not a classic crash
Steam overlay and NVIDIA overlay modules appear loaded in the process even though overlays are disabled in settings

Steps to reproduce

Environment where this reproduced:
Windows 11 25H2
Mini-PC with eGPU (OCuLink)
RTX 5070
NVIDIA driver 591.44

Enabling: (to reproduce)
Windows button → Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Default graphics settings →
"Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" = On

Then boot skyrimtogether with vanilla content and address library 1.6

Reproduction rate

  • Consistent: I can reproduce this bug by following the steps to reproduce 100% of the time (every time)
  • Occasional: I can reproduce this bug by following the steps to reproduce around 50% of the time
  • Rare: I can reproduce this bug by following the steps to reproduce around 10% or less of the time

The issue was caused by Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (HAGS) being enabled in Windows.
After disabling HAGS and rebooting, SkyrimTogether.exe launches and works normally.

Disabling:
Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Default graphics settings →
"Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" = Off

Expected result

SkyrimTogether loads as expected? Or explains why it failed
