Issues with ESC signals

Loaded the code, run the code, wii remote connects, connect batteries, turn on ESC....press B + up...nothing happens. The ESC is not speaking to PI. I connected a Servo to see if there was a signal....nothing. Not sure why this is happening.

Hello, I am no longer using a Raspberry Pi for my skateboard as running a Linux based system for a skateboard was not optimal. I am now using a HKGT2B ( https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykingr-tmhk-gt2b-3ch-2-4ghz-transmitter-and-receiver-w-rechargable-li-ion-battery-1.html) remote from hobby king to control the motor/esc. This allows the skateboard to be more viable for everyday use. I used the Raspberry Pi on my project at the start because it was done as a university project where the Pi was a prerequisite and needed to be used in a project. Because the HK remote is big and not the same size as a Wii Remote I have shrunk mine by following this mod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_xoGiUinbY. If you have a 3D printer at hand or that you can borrow I would suggest doing the same.
