Studying the method to calculate tristimulus values from the spectrum

I have some questions about the method for calculating tristimulus values from the spectrum.

For example...

• If the wavelength step exceeds over 10 nm, how should it be interpolated?
• If the wavelength range is restricted (e.g., 420 - 700 nm), how should it be extrapolated it?
