I really like how mumble does it. It goes from -30dB to 30dB where 30dB will explode my ears(I want to have an option like this in case there's someone with a reaaaaaaaly quiet microphone, if I want to ear rape myself it's my choice!) and the sliding feels very natural. When I adjust the slider between -30dB and 0dB it feels like I have a wide range of options and I can adjust my friend's volume precisely to what I want. Refer to the tiktok website volume slider if you want an example of how it's not supposed to be done.
