Gnome Wayland program treated as a fullscreen app, causing the top panel to hide #378

Description

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run Discover Overlay

Expected behavior

Top panel should still be visible and accessible.

Problematic behavior

Once Discover Overlay starts, top panel will disappear because Gnome thinks there is a fullscreen program displaying constantly. It will also trigger caffeine, causing the system to stop suspending.
Only the dock from Dash to Dock doesn't seem to care, it's still visible and working as expected.
Previously the program wasn't causing any issues with Gnome Wayland.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • Operating System / Distrobution : ArchLinux
  • Desktop Environment : Gnome 49.5

Installation Method

  • AUR: discover-overlay-git

Discord client information

  • Install method : pacman - extra
  • Version : stable 513422 (9040598) Host 0.0.129 x64

Additional context

It took me quite some time to diagnose the issue, so I don't really know how long it actually has been happening.
I think it might have started somewhere around November 2025 but honestly no idea, might have been longer than that.
