dependencies are too old, needs to be updated

upon downloading zip file and attempting to run it, a lot of dependencies turned out to be too old or already deprecated, i suggest it be updated to be able to run in 2017, a lot of code is already 2-3 years old and outdated, i tried fixing it my self via composer and other means but this is just beyond me, i got it to work by running in cmd

composer update

still old tho
