Can I trigger a manual download using the Save Changes button?

I recently had an issue where clicking the Save Changes button would try to save to my dropbox for a few seconds, then pop up a a dialog saying something like "Error while saving. [object Object]".
Is there another button I can add, or another method I could use to force a save which downloads to a local html file? So that I manually can upload that to my dropbox for later.
