Most of the component pad on the Gemini boards especially the line and wall sensor boards are very small and hence will be difficult for schools to reliably get the soldering iron onto the pad to make a reliable joint. Also, if a component has to be replaced and the hole redrilled at 0.8 mm There is likely to be little pad left to solder to. I had to replace 3 resistors and on 2 of them I couldn't get a joint on the bottom of the board afterwards and had to run solder down the component lead from the top of the board to get it to work.
