Dropdown tuple

With odin I often have a dropdown case similar to

[Dropdown(nameof(SomeClass.PrefilledValues))]
public SomeScriptableObject Value

PrefilledValues = List<ValueTuple<SomeScriptableObject, string>>

where I present a dropdown with some neat naming and formatting (including ability to make tree-structures with / like Name/SubName/SubsubName), but the value that is being set is not a string

I have briefly looked at how dropdowns are currently handled and it should be fairly easy to add such functionality. Or I'm missing something there?

As long as there are strings in the collection with a / you should be able to create submenus. Just tested it right now.

In my case I use tags with ecs and job system that requires the types to be unmanaged.
String/list/class field makes the struct managed

Tag system is just an example.

Oh, yeah ECS is something I have yet to get my hands into. Like I said your situation is very specific, but I will think about it for the next update. One question though, it seems you already use have and use odin, why are you interested in my package? I'm just curious.

Odin was killing all the performance on previous projects if anything is displayed in inspector.
And I used its serialization in a limited way, only for a few scriptable objects

I added both Dictionary support to Dropdowns and updated the reflection system to be able to find members from other types (as long as their are const or static) in v2.6.0

You should be able to do something like this now.

public class AttributesExample : MonoBehaviour
{
        [Dropdown("Example.dropdownValues")]
        [SerializeField] private Vector3 vectorDropdown;
}

public class Example
{
        public static Dictionary<string, Vector3> dropdownValues = new()
        {
                { "Directions/Forward", Vector3.forward },
                { "Directions/Up", Vector3.up },
                { "Directions/Down", Vector3.right },
                { "One", Vector3.one },
                { "Zero", Vector3.zero }
        }
}

The Dictionary key will be used for display
