Triggering SWIPE event while scrolling (touchmove)

I think there's a strange behavior with the swipe event. If you setup an element like a Side-panel on the left of the viewport to show up any time you SWIPE RIGHT. The panel will be showing up even when you scroll up/down.

I have tried to fix tracking the angle movement like: evt.angle > -15 && evt.angle < 15) but even if you are drawing a line at 45deg when you get your finger out the SWIPE event is going to trigger with a lower angle than -/+15

Does anyone else have seen this issue? Is there any workaround?
