Misleading trail if no data exists past trail end

Consider chart below. It looks like Columbia has a higher murder rate in 2016, while actually the last datapoint of Columbia is in 1994. The lack of any data 1994-2016 makes the trail stop in 1994.

Either we should remove trails if there's no current data.
Or
We should style the marker so that it's clear it's not current data.
