can I use feed-item attributes rather than feed attributes?

Currently I can set {feed-title} in place of the email sender-name. but I wonder if I could use the feed-item title instead. I know that normally the feed-item title goes in the subject, but the email client I'm using gives the name more prominence than the subject, and I find that for skimming the headlines I'd rather have the item title have more prominence.
