To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to extension in vscode
2. Click on search "circuitpython v2"
3. install
4. in vscode goto "go" then press CTRL+SHIFT+P then choose CircuitPython:OPen.Serial Monitor
5. then get error Command "CircuitPython:OPen.Serial Monitor" resulted in an error

Expected behavior
open cdc port see all files of device also use REPL

I see the same thing for every command in this extension, command [name] not found, for example:

VS Code reports extension version 0.3.4 and I'm running macOS 15.5.

I was having this same issue I found, and unfortunately closed, a bug report on the un-forked version that suggested a missing file in install was to blame and to try installing the previous version, 0.3.3

Installed 0.33 and no more 'not found issue'.

The missing file should be the JSON file for devices in the .visx vscode install file, as far as I can recall.

I also tried on my Linux box and it worked fine with the latest version, so it must be a problem in the Windows binary build. That would make sense if it is the devices JSON.

I've also run into this on Windows with the latest version, I just went back to 0.3.1 and everything is back to normal

There seems to be a recent (last month) commit/PR to the repo with windows build fixes, but it is currently unreleased.
It sounds like there are a few PRs to test more thoroughly before being released: #35 (comment)

I’m seeing the same exact behavior on macOS with the latest CircuitPython v2 extension (0.3.4). The extension never finishes activating, and all commands (including CircuitPython: Open Serial Monitor) are unavailable.

Rolling back to version 0.3.3 makes everything work again, which suggests the issue was introduced in the latest release.
