Awards system for voting channels #11
Description
Issue:
As of now, on average, the number of voters per post is 2-3 due to inactivity, which means some really good posts get lost due to there not being enough votes.
Proposal:
An awards system where there are 3 tiers of awards (Silver, Gold and Diamond) where each award (in the form of a reaction on a post) is the equivalent of 3, 5, and 8 upvotes respectively.
It is to be expected that once an award is given by someone to a post, many users that like the post may default to also reacting with that award instead of using an upvote or a lower tier award. This is a problem because It'll make a wide gap between some posts and others which will cause the toplists of /fetch to be dominated by a small number of posts (imbalance).
Solution:
A system where:
- lowest tier award can be given by any member.
- middle tier award can be given by active members only (identified by their unique
Sylvan Knightsrole). - highest tier award can be given by mods only.
