It would be great to be able to grab genres for artists and for releases/release groups from https://rateyourmusic.com/.

If the code isn't too weighty then it would be cool to have this and the Bandcamp tag importers in the same script (potentially allowing for an extra button to 'tag from all').

They also have 'descriptors', not sure about importing them. It's a lot, but with tags more is probably better? As long as they're accurate. We filter out genres into a whitelist already, for users who only want those. But maybe other people think it's too much.
A good example for a RYM entity with a lot of genres and descriptors is the release already linked above.

RYM currently blocks scraping very aggressively, returning an HTTP 403: Forbidden when I try. This isn't likely to change until they start making their API available, which IS on their roadmap, but I'm not exactly holding my breath for it.

I've created a prototype in the form of a test script with Gemini that works around the bot protection via two methods:

1. Opening the rateyourmusic page in a popup, from which the data is extracted and then sent back to MusicBrainz through window.postMessage()
2. Opening a background tab through GM_openInTab, extracting the data and storing in script storage where it can be read on MusicBrainz

Tested very briefly on artist pages only.

I've tried both methods, and the popup method is more reliable on my machine. However, I hesitate to add something as intrusive as a popup to an otherwise well-behaved script, so I think I'll have it be disabled by default and add a warning about the popup in the settings menu.
