Request for Android support

I installed b2_libretro.so from the V0.3-beta release in the Android 64 bit latest stable version of Retroarch from the website (not the playstore), however the core will not load. I know there was some discussion about creating an android compatible core, but perhaps this is not it? Please advise on how to get b2 working in Android.

Did you grab the right .so file? The core can be installed via RetroArch built-in online updater (experimental cores has to be enabled), that way no separate download is needed.
If that does not solve it, please generate a log:

I enabled experimental cores, refreshed the info files and the b2 core showed up in the core updater. Thankfully selecting it overwrote whatever core I had tried to install and it's now working. Thanks for the tip and I'm so happy to be able to play BBC model B games from my younger days of owning one. This has been a long time coming and very welcome. Thanks for all your hard work! This approach worked fine on both my Retroid Pocket 4 pro and my Anbernic RG Cube.

Is there a way to bring up the virtual keyboard btw? Some games have a lot of extra keys for confirming menu options etc, so the keyboard would be very useful and just the main control buttons can then be mapped to physical buttons.

If you configure "retropad" overlay instead of "neo-retropad", and set up a keyboard overlay at the bottom of the Overlay menu, it is possible to switch to onscreen keyboard. There is no specific layout for the BBC Micro/Master, but it should map quite well to the usual one.
