NAS / Switch Configuration

NAS

TLS/SSL

Use the included certificate manager to create a new root certificate. With this root certifcate create a server certificate.

Switch Config

TLS/SSL

Create the required private key and certificate with the certificate manager provided by the NAS. Use a signing request.

The switch must have HTTPS disabled before the configuration can be changed.

  1. Install TFTP Server as described here
  2. Start TFTP Server on computer where certificates available.
  3. Load the server certificate via TFTP as Root Certificate.
  4. Load the server private key via TFTP as Server Certificate
  5. Activate HTTPS on switch

Based on Stackoverflow, however, dhparams are not required.

There is also the possibility to update the files via HTTP

Under Maintenance Update you can also select those files.

Host Config

In the absence of a DNS server one may use hosts file to specify domain names to access the systems
