🧠 Anxiety Mapping Model (AMM)

The Anxiety Mapping Model (AMM) is a non-clinical self-mapping framework developed by Alien Algorithms Ltd® that identifies anxiety types based on symptom frequency patterns rather than diagnosis labels.

AMM treats anxiety as a pattern-system, not a personality flaw — where the nervous system expresses different types of protective signals depending on what it believes is required for safety.

This model helps individuals visually identify which symptoms dominate, how often they appear, and what anxiety category they belong to.

🧬 Core Concept

AMM is built on one principle:

Frequency = Identity.

The most frequent symptoms reveal the actual type of anxiety a person is experiencing — even if other symptoms overlap.

This helps users understand:

what type of anxiety they truly have

why certain symptoms dominate

which patterns come from overlap

how the nervous system is trying to protect them

🔍 What AMM Maps

AMM tracks and classifies recurring symptoms such as:

Physical tension surges

Cognitive urgency

Sensory over-amplification

Threat-oriented scanning

Body-based alarms (heart rate spikes, gut responses)

Emotional spikes or shutdowns

The goal is not to diagnose — but to reveal pattern dominance.

🔄 Relationship to PRM & DPM

AMM is part of the Self-Mapping Suite, alongside:

🔗 PTSD Response Map (PRM)

🔗 Depression Pattern Model (DPM)

https://github.com/AlienAlgorithmsLtd/Depression-Pattern-Model-DPM

Together, the three models map:

Anxiety (AMM: frequency patterns)

Trauma responses (PRM: survival-cycle architecture)

Depressive rhythms (DPM: wave-pattern logic)

Using all three reveals how internal states interact and why certain cycles repeat.

👥 Who AMM Is For

Individuals wanting clarity without clinical framing

People unsure what kind of anxiety they actually experience

Support workers who need simple non-clinical pattern tools

Researchers exploring self-assessment frameworks

AMM gives structure to a system the body already knows.

About

The Anxiety Mapping Model (AMM) is a tool to empower individuals to better understand their anxiety through structured self-reflection. By breaking anxiety into manageable steps, AMM encourages users to track symptoms, recognize patterns, and connect them to potential triggers
