…ethods Deprecate these methods for removal. (They may be removed prior to the final 0.18 release, but this is to-be-decided.)
This field probably shouldn't have been made public and is probably not being used externally, so we can reasonably make it private without deprecation.
It seems useless at this point.
Set thread name in the constructor.
It's unlikely to be used so we can remove it without deprecation.
