The standard - is more narrow than the +. When switching between open and closed states we get a layout shift or an unexpected look. − is the proper counter part to the +.

Current documentation for `protocol` was confusing because it said "this property contains an empty string", but actually referred to the `port` property? Possibly a copy & paste error.
