Be smarter with every change

Local Edition

This batch file will automatically download the latest version of the project from GitHub and run everything needed to get started.

  • ✅ The Local Power BI Governance Model/Report and all outputs will be saved to: C:\Power BI Backups

⚠️ Note: If this process fails (for example, due to Group Policy restrictions on downloading or writing to C:\), please follow the simple step-by-step instructions in the README

How it Works

This batch file simply:

  1. Downloads the latest version of the repo from GitHub.
  2. Extracts it to C:\Power BI Backups.
  3. Asks you to place any reports or models you want analyzed into the Local Reports and Models folder.
  4. Runs the included Local Final PowerShell script (Local Final PS Script.txt).
  5. Automatically opens the Local Power BI Governance Model when finished.

.
Re-running the Installer
If you’ve already run this before, re-running it will:

  • Update repo files and outputs with the latest features.
  • Keep your reports and models safe — anything you’ve placed in the Local Reports and Models folder will not be deleted or overwritten.

It’s the same process as doing the steps manually — just streamlined into one click.
