This Wiki is focused on the 2021+ Ford F150 and to help distill the following:
✅ Is your truck compatible with the comma 3X?
✅ What to purchase.
✅ How to install the comma 3X.

❌ If you own an F150 model year before 2021, stop reading your vehicle is not supported.

2021+ F150 Package Compatibility:

The 2021+ F150 comes with many confusing packages, and the supply chain shortages also meant some placeholder packages existed such as: "Prep" packages.

I've tried distilling the information I found from various sites into the chart below and created an Appendix at the end with screenshots of the data related to the Co-Pilot 360 packages.

In summary, Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering is needed for comma 3X (C3X) to assist with driving. The Co-Pilot 360 table below of features is a great resource, but additional steps should be taken to confirm the vehicle is compatible.

Packages that have Lane Centering and Adaptive Cruise Control:

2021:

  • 🟢Co-Pilot 360 Assist+
  • 🟢Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0

2022+:

  • 🟢Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0
  • 🟢BlueCruise 1.0

As mentioned above packages can be misleading. So you can also confirm by verifying these are available in your F150:

First, ensure you have these options on your steering wheel:

Second, using the touchscreen navigation, go to: Features > Driver Assistance > Cruise Control and confirm the "Lane Centering" option is available.

*No one has tested Lane keep assist with the comma3X - Lane Keep Assist will alert drivers if they drift outside of the marked lines for their lane. This is done with a vibration tactile feedback in the wheel, and a small amount of automatic wheel turning if needed. The car will not steer itself or stay centered in the lane.
🟢 - Most likely supports comma3X

Purchasing a comma 3X and additional hardware:

comma's Website: comma 3X

What to purchase from comma: comma 3X, Ford Q4 Harness, and comma 3x (8 degrees)

8 Degree window mount due to a steep windshield: https://comma.ai/shop/replacement-mounts

For the F150, due to where the installation takes place, you'll also need a 6ft extension cable. The cable needs to be at least a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C (See installation video below)

Cable recommendation: [USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C - 6FT]

Example comma 3X purchase screen:

Note: Ford Q4 Harness is toward the bottom under "Development Harnesses"

Installation:

Note: If you have the older comma 3 with red panda the instructions will be slightly different.

Once your comma3X is installed, you must go through the setup process. It's pretty simple; follow the onscreen guide. When it asks for the installer and to keep it simple for now, use: installer.comma.ai/bluepilot/stable
