Please proofread, I have only limited experience with the code base for a few days
I have only tested this locally via the logger, unit tests would be better. I can potentially add some, but then I need at least a bit of advice
Indents / tabs / whitespaces are a bit "scrambled" for me, potentially due to not the same editorconfig(?). I have tried to touch as few lines as possible. Maybe adapt a bit.
