Approved with the understanding that some of these changes are temporary. Direct-to-daemon commands will soon be removed.

This is sending raw daemon commands which is going to soon be cut off.

This also incorporates Chaz's ETC code which eventually will be a library the GUI imports instead
There is a request to move the GUI bottom section and make it 2nd from top, which I will do another time in a separate PR
