HomeKit Integration

Device Extensions is fully integrated with the Homebridge Buddy plugin and utilizes the Homebridge Buddy 3rd Party API to allow you to integrate directly into HomeKit.

On all devices the integration is the same, you will see a checkbox that allows you to enable the device with HomeKit, once you check the box you are presented with available Homebridge Buddy servers and the type of device to define this as.

To integrate this device:

  1. Check the box "Enable for HomeKit"
  2. Select the Homebridge Buddy server to attach this device to
  3. Select the type of device you want this to be in HomeKit

Now this device will automatically be monitored in Homebridge Buddy and any changes you make to it will save through to your Homebridge configuration. This eliminates the need to include this device in the Homebridge Buddy server configuration. To remove this from Homebridge/HomeKit simply uncheck the "Enable for HomeKit" checkbox.
