"I feel destined for something magical, something I don't quite understand, something rare."
Something Rare is an immersive digital portfolio and storytelling sanctuary designed for "quiet hearts." It moves away from the traditional, rigid structure of professional portfolios to create a narrative-driven experience where art, literature, and technology intersect.
This project was born from a desire to create a space that feels "quietly alive". It is built for those who feel deeply and imagine endlessly, serving as both a showcase of my technical abilities and a home for my original writings and ebooks. +1
Core: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
Styling: Custom CSS focused on minimalism and atmospheric UI/UX principles.
Deployment: Hosted on Netlify.
Interactions: Custom JavaScript for DOM manipulation and interactive "vintage paper" reveals.
Atmospheric Storytelling: A "chapter-based" layout that guides the user through different creative themes like "Of Stardust & Lyrics" and "Two Boys in Love."
Interactive Reveals: Uses custom-coded buttons (not simple links) to trigger vintage-inspired "letter" modals, keeping users engaged within the narrative flow.
Neurodivergent-Friendly Design: Focused on a minimalist interface to reduce cognitive load and provide a soothing browsing experience. +2
Integrated Storefront: A clean, grid-based presentation of original ebooks and digital art prints.
As part of my growth as a developer, I am planning to refactor the interactive components of this site using React. This will allow for:
State-managed transitions between "chapters."
More complex, reusable components for the storytelling cards.
Enhanced performance for the image-heavy gallery.
