Installation
Corundum offers several types of installation: "classic" installations (recommended) and portable installations (for installation on USB sticks or other portable formats).
For beginners, we recommend a recommended installation, as it's quick and easy to find Corundum.
Before proceeding, make sure you have installed and configured Git. If not, you can download an executable from this page, and to configure Git, simply open the "Git Bash" terminal and use these two command lines. Note: you'll need to modify information such as your username and e-mail address.
git config --global user.name “[firstname lastname]”
git config --global user.email “[valid-email]”
Download the PDF containing all the Git commands from the GitHub servers by clicking here.
You can then clone the GitHub repository via a command line, or by downloading the ZIP file (from the "Code" button).
Open Git Bash, choose the directory of your choice and start cloning.
git clone https://github.com/enioaiello/corundum.git
You'll then find the install.bat file. Simply run it as administrator, then follow the instructions on your screen. In our case, we want a recommended installation, so we'll need to select the appropriate option using the keys on your keyboard, then press enter.
You'll then find Corundum in your Start menu. Note: on Windows 10, you'll find Corundum in the "Enio Aiello" folder.
Note: this installation mode is used to specify a different local installation path, without support for an uninstaller and Start menu shortcuts.
Note: If you plan to install Corundum on your local hard disk or another partition, you can skip this step.
Connect your external storage device to your computer. Make sure it has at least 10 MB of memory.
Copy (or type) the destination path for Corundum. Make sure you're in a directory that doesn't contain an existing Corundum installation. The installation script will create the Corundum folder and all the necessary files. Then press enter.
Once installation is complete, you'll find a new folder containing Corundum in the destination path you specified. Then run main.bat as administrator.
Corundum offer a downgrade option, which allows users to upgrade from less recent versions. For example, if you have version 1.1.0-stable, you can download version 1.0.0-stable and run the installer, as if you were upgrading.
Note: this also works with alpha and beta (non-stable) versions.
Run the Corundum installer. If the program suggests an installation, Corundum cannot be found or is not installed. If no Corundum items are available in the start menu, this is probably a simple portable installation, in which case you can directly delete the folder containing Corundum. Follow the on-screen instructions until you hear Corundum has been completely uninstalled.
You can restart his workstation, although this is optional.
