Welcome to the Docker4DeepLabCut2.0 wiki!

From a user, Sergey Motorny:

If you are interested in exporting $DISPLAY GUI from inside of a Docker, I believe I have a solution I can run X11 apps (on Linux) and forward output to your local system

It is a three-step process.

  • First, add this line to Dockerfile: ENV DISPLAY :0

  • Second, set the following three environment variables on your local system (outside of the Docker image): XSOCK=/tmp/.X11-unix XAUTH=/tmp/.docker.xauth xauth nlist :0 | sed -e 's/^..../ffff/' | xauth -f $XAUTH nmerge -

  • Third (after building your Docker image), make sure to mount the volumes: GPU=0 bash ./dlc-docker run -d -p 8888:8888 -v $XSOCK:$XSOCK -v $XAUTH:$XAUTH -e XAUTHORITY=$XAUTH -e USER_HOME=/deeplabcut --name deeplabcut dlc_user/deeplabcut

Done! Now, you can execute xeyes (or any other x11 app) inside of the Docker image and have it pop up right on your local system
