π seeking new opportunities to build accessible, secure, fun, and meaningful applications π
I like making stuff (with or without a computer). If it involves being creative, chances are I've given it a go.
- coding accessibly, and building inclusive, ethical technology is really important to me.
- I'm most motivated by organisations/causes/projects which seek to tackle social issues and leave our world a better place. Industries I'm particularly interested in getting involved with would include areas such as EdTech or green/clean energy and environmental technology.
- to date I've been more of a generalist than a specialist - I've worked in network engineering, data, digital learning design, and software (both frontend and backend) - so while I'm very flexible on what sort of position/team I could fit into, my ideal role would generally focus on either data or programming and include plenty of room for curiosity and growth with the right company π±
- I've recently completed the Code First Girls Mid-Level Accelerator (JavaScript specialism, passed with distinction/96%), +Masters (Cybersecurity specialism, passed with distinction/98%), and currently am working towards their +Masters in Vulnerability Research (also where I'm learning the basics of C++)!
- most of my code is private and/or proprietary stuff, so while I can't disclose certain specifics/details or share code, I am happy to discuss my contributions/projects in terms of their impact, purpose, etc.
- languages I've used most: JavaScript/TypeScript; Python; SQL; R.
- languages I'd like to use more: C#; Java.
- when it comes to JS frameworks: Vue is my favourite; React is the one I've worked with most; I have endured Angular.
- I'm more concerned with the company/cause than the nitty gritty of the tech stack - I like learning, so I'll happily work with new or different tools and whatnot if I'm onboard with the mission π
