Glyphcoder - Optical character recognition on images with format preservation

Glyphcoder is an optical character recognition (OCR) tool for intelligently extracting text from images. It automatically groups lines and paragraphs, detects bold, italics, and uppercase letters, and allows for manual text formatting to achieve an exact copy. Ideal for digitizing document pages; export to TXT or HTML, or simply copy and paste into your favorite document editor.

EXECUTION

• Download the executable file "Glyphcoder.exe" from the link provided by the developer.
• No installation required: simply run the ".exe" file by double-clicking.
• If you use antivirus software, make sure it allows execution (false positives are common in .exe files).
• The executable includes all necessary dependencies.

• Theme: Light/Dark
• Interface language: Indonesian, German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Swahili, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese.

Open an image

• Click on 📂 Open image or drag a file directly into the viewer.
• The image will be displayed in the left panel.
• Press 🔍 Process OCR.
• The progress bar will indicate the progress. When finished, the extracted text will appear in the central area, with paragraphs and alignments automatically detected.

Apply formatting

Select part of the text with the cursor before applying the style, using the buttons in the right panel:

• Bold, italic, underline, highlight.

• Align: left, center, right, justified.

• Superscript, subscript, convert to uppercase, convert to lowercase.

• H1, H2, H3 (headings), and clear formatting (of the selected text).

• The formatting buttons are highlighted when the style is active.

• The 🗑️ Clear button erases the image and text, leaving the interface ready to start over.

IMPORTANT

• When you run Process OCR for the first time, the application will download the language models. This may take a few seconds and requires an internet connection.
• For best results, use sharp images with good contrast and well-aligned text.
• If you upload very large images, the application may consume a lot of RAM; if you notice the system slowing down, try smaller images.

EXPORT

Glyphcoder supports two export formats:

• TXT: Saves only plain text, without formatting.
• HTML: Exports the text with all formatting tags applied (bold, italic, alignment, etc.), ready to open in a browser or include in a web page.
• It is also possible to copy and paste directly into any document editor.

Glyphcoder es una herramienta de reconocimiento óptico de caracteres para la extracción de texto en imágenes de forma inteligente. Agrupa automáticamente las líneas y párrafos, detecta negrita, cursiva, mayúsculas; además, permite formatear el texto de manera manual para lograr una copia exacta. EJECUCIÓN

• Descarga el archivo ejecutable "Glyphcoder.exe" desde el enlace proporcionado por el desarrollador.
• No requiere instalación: simplemente ejecuta el archivo ".exe" haciendo doble clic.

Abrir una imagen

• Haz clic en 📂 Abrir imagen o arrastra un archivo directamente al visor.
• La imagen se mostrará en el panel izquierdo.
• Presiona 🔍 Procesar OCR.
• La barra de progreso indicará el avance. Al terminar, el texto extraído aparecerá en el área central, con los párrafos y alineaciones detectados automáticamente.

Aplicar formato

Selecciona parte del texto con el cursor antes de aplicar el estilo, usa los botones del panel derecho:

• Negrita, cursiva, subrayado, resaltado.

• Alinear: izquierda, centro, derecha, justificado.

• Superíndice, subíndice, convertir a mayúsculas, convertir a minúsculas.

• H1, H2, H3 (encabezados), y limpiar formato (del texto seleccionado).

• Los botones de formato se resaltan cuando el estilo está activo.

• El botón 🗑️ Limpiar borra la imagen y el texto, dejando la interfaz lista para empezar de nuevo.

IMPORTANTE

• Al ejecutar Procesar OCR por primera vez, la aplicación descargará los modelos de idioma. Esto puede tardar unos segundos y requiere conexión a internet.
• Para mejores resultados, usa imágenes nítidas, con buen contraste y texto bien alineado.
• Si cargas imágenes muy grandes, la aplicación puede consumir bastante RAM; si ves que el sistema se ralentiza, prueba con imágenes más pequeñas.

EXPORTAR

Glyphcoder soporta dos formatos de exportación:

• TXT: Guarda solo el texto plano, sin formato.
• HTML: Exporta el texto con todas las etiquetas de formato aplicadas (negrita, cursiva, alineación, etc.), listo para abrir en un navegador o incluir en una página web.
• También es posible copiar y pegar directamente en cualquier editor de documentos.
