Dask's automatic chunking aims for 128 MiB by default, whereas we were making chunks of 1-2 GiB.
In my tests this is maybe a bit slower, but there's so much variability it's hard to tell. Loïc thinks that smaller chunks should make Dask more stable - if so, making it a bit slower is probably worthwhile.
