- *Handover*
- _Overview_
- Some time between Easter and summer.
- Training modules on UONSU website that must be completed before you can be added to committee officially.
- A series of multiple choice questions directly based on information you're given, not meant to catch you out.
- You can access things like the event form from the SU dashboard.
- _Role Questions_
- Alex asked Indra if there would be an infrastructure document.
- Later James arrived and said there will be a document, likely sometime soon.
- The plan is to give new Dev Secs their HackSoc stuff before the others, and then let the Dev Secs add the other committee members (as training).
- Joel asked about the GitHub
- Old committee members need to be removed before new members can be added.
- Trey asked if there was anything to be aware of wrt. speaker acquisition secretary.
- Nishi explained that you contact people to do speaker talks, and you can ask committee waht they want to see.
- There can also be student talks e.g. dissertation, but ironically, students are often too busy with academics to do talks about academics.
\
- *HackNotts*
- Lana explained HackNotts - "big event, cost lots of money"
- Lana and Nishi will be lead organisers.
- We have enough organisers as of the form closing yesterday, but non-organising committee are encouraged to volunteer - applications will open later in the year.
- Will Rostance can go and get the SU card from Portland to buy stuff for HackNotts.
- If you know anyone who could sponsor e.g. nepotism, please reach out so we can have lots of sponsors and make lots of money.
- There will be a HackNotts organiser meeting where specifics are discussed in more depth.
\
- *Other*
- _Preliminary Event Ideas_
- These are not set in stone - just sharing for fun
- _Blender workshop - Will Wright_
- Would be useful for those with gamedev interest.
- _Game Jam - Nishi_
- Qiang told us we had one in 2023, but no one did it. Likely due to poor communciation - announced right after another event so could've been missed.
- We could raise awareness for Game Jams Hackathon style - letting people know about non-HackSoc events so they can form teams.
- _Misc_
- We agreed that the peak district is a fate worse than death - one that Harry has met with. General sadness at his fate.
- A RoboNotts crossover event was briefly discussed.
- We also talked about the Switch 2.
