I'm Hector reporting at the site, a Multimedia Engineer specialized in Backend and Android Development. I design and build systems ranging from REST APIs and microservice architectures to native mobile apps using Jetpack Compose.
On the backend, I have experience designing microservice architectures with real-time communication (WebSockets, NATS), multi-tenant systems, and REST APIs using NestJS, Spring Boot, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. I’m passionate about real-time systems and understanding how they work from the inside.
Currently, I combine my backend experience with native mobile development, building Android apps with Jetpack Compose and Clean Architecture. I’ve also been exploring the Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) ecosystem and how to integrate AI into my projects using Firebase AI Logic and Genkit.
As an organizer of GDG Cali, I’ve shared my knowledge with the community through talks and workshops related to web and Android development.
