How to Add RAM

Follow these steps to change how much memory (RAM) Minecraft can use in your modpack launcher.
In your modpack launcher (like Modrinth App or Prism), find the settings menu.
It’s usually in the bottom-left corner or in the sidebar.
Look for a setting Default instance options on Modrinth App or "Memory", "Max RAM", or "Allocated Memory" for other launchers.
Then find the Memory allocated slider if on the Modrinth App. There will often be a slider or a text box with a number like 2000 MB or 4096 MB.
Choose an amount based on your system:
- If you’re not sure how much RAM your computer has, use 3000 MB — it’s a safe amount.
- If you have 8 GB of RAM or more, you can use 4000 MB (4 GB) or more.
- Do not use more than half of your total system RAM, and it is not recommended to use more the 4 GB for most use cases when playing version 1.8.9.
Once you've set the RAM and installed Java, you're ready to install and launch any modpack.
For help installing SkyBlock Enhanced, check the
How to install section on Modrinth.
