For the time being, some things related to parallel SLiM are being removed/disabled in the master branch, since that feature is unreleased, incompletely tested, and unsupported. This branch contains changes that back out that removal/disabling. It will be merged in when parallel SLiM is ready for release.
NOTE THAT THIS BRANCH WILL BE REBASED WITHOUT WARNING! THIS IS FOR DEVELOPMENT ONLY!
