Economics + Statistics @ UBC | Research Assistant @ UBC VSE
Status: Actively seeking full-time Data Science / Analytics / Quant internships (Available for up to 16 months).
I spend an unreasonable amount of time bridging the gap between economic theory and statistical reality. My sweet spot is solving real-world business and macro problems using causal inference, time series forecasting, and statistical learning.
- Forecasting Household Net Savings: A structural modeling project forecasting net savings of households and firms in Canada (STAT 443).
- The Opportunity Cost of Schooling: Econometrics Game 2026 Preliminary Project.
- Illumi-naughty: An NTL x Crime econometrics research project utilizing panel Fixed Effects models.
- Praxis UBC: Ongoing analytical work and collaboration.
- Continuous Learning: Tackling Honours Intermediate Macroeconomics II, Computational Optimization, Time Series and Forecasting to sharpen my quantitative edge.
- Languages: Python, R, Julia, SQL, MATLAB
- Machine Learning & Data: NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Tidyverse, OpenCV, GIS
- Data Visualization: Matplotlib, Plotly, ggplot2, Tableau Public (and occasionally pushing Desmos to its absolute limits)
- Workflow & Tools: Git/GitHub, Linux, Quarto, GitHub Actions, LaTeX, Advanced Excel
- Domain Expertise: Causal Inference, Time Series Modeling, Econometrics, Game Theory, A/B Testing Fundamentals
When I'm not wrestling with convergence issues or optimizing queries, I am:
- Running: Catch me running a morning 10k! Let's connect on Strava.
- Otaku Life: Playing video games, or defending my (very correct) opinions on manga & anime.
- Location: UBC Vancouver Campus (practically a permanent fixture 365 days a year).
